I learned useful skills for navigating the employment process including the best ways to present my skills, interview tactics, and useful questions to ask an employer. I learned the STAR technique for interviews: Situation, Task, Action, Result to help me more effectively answer questions.

Dare to Disagree

I learned about the importance of engaging in conflict in professional settings through a TED talk by Margaret Heffernan. The main takeaway I got from this session is that in difficult situations, you may find allies if you speak up.

Reflections on Gender Violence and Social Movements

This screening, as part of the Fundamental Film Series, discussed the fight for LGBTQ+ rights in Georgia. I learned about the accessible sources on campus, such as the center for IDEAS, and how I can continue to be an advocate against gender and sexual violence in the local community.
