My spring involvement goal was to enhance my professional skills through student organization involvement.
BomberTHON
IC BomberTHON is a new Dance Marathon that works with Upstate Golisano Children's Hospital and Miracle Network. Because of my involvement as a committee member in the fall, I wanted to to apply for an Eboard position. I was appointed the Co-Chair of Dancer Relations for BomberTHON 2020
I have continued my work with the organization at home through Zoom meetings to discuss planning for next year's event. My goal with BomberTHON this semester was to apply my professional interview skills and I learned the importance of being prepared and informed on an organization before applying for a big position.
BUZZSAW Magazine
BUZZSAW is a student-run publication on campus. My goal this semester was to participate in a student organization that would give me professional experience related to my intended career. It is important for a leader to gain experience in the area of their passion. This semester with Buzzsaw I have worked with editors on two pieces for the Prose & Cons section of the magazine. Tap Club
IC Tap Club rehearses twice a week and we work on student choreographed pieces. Through being involved in this club I have learned the importance of practice and confidence. My goal this semester was professional development through practicing a skill. Repeated rehearsals and my own outside practice showed me the value of learning new skills by allowing oneself to make mistakes and grow from them.
